RAWALPINDI: Security forces have killed five terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy group “Fitna al Hindustan” during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Kohlu district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.
According to the military’s media wing, the operation was conducted on Thursday after intelligence reports indicated the presence of terrorists in the area.
“During the operation, troops effectively engaged the terrorists, and after an intense firefight, five Indian-sponsored terrorists were sent to hell,” the ISPR said.
Weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the terrorists’ hideout. The ISPR said the killed militants were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities in the region.
Sanitisation operations are underway to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area, the military said, adding that the counterterrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam would continue at full pace to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
A day earlier, security forces had also killed 10 terrorists, including a high-value target, in separate intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Kalat district and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan district.
According to the ISPR, an IBO was carried out on December 24 in the general area of Kulachi in Dera Ismail Khan following reports about the presence of Khwarij. During the operation, troops engaged the militants, killing two Khwarij, including their ringleader, Dilawar, the statement said.
