Justice Zafar Rajput administered oath as SHC CJ

KARACHI: Justice Zafar Rajput has taken oath as the Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court during a formal ceremony held at Governor House Karachi.

Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori administered the oath, marking the official commencement of Justice Rajput’s tenure.

The event drew prominent figures from the provincial government and the legal fraternity. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah attended alongside Information Minister Sharjeel Memon and Home Minister Zia Lanjar. Sitting judges, senior lawyers, and former judges of the Sindh High Court were also present.

The oath-taking ceremony was also attended by the consuls general of Türkiye, Qatar, Italy and Indonesia, highlighting the diplomatic interest in the province’s judicial developments.

Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput had been serving as the Acting Chief Justice prior to his elevation. His appointment as Chief Justice was confirmed after the President issued the formal notification on Friday, paving the way for today’s ceremony.
