Seven NCCIA officers resign over alleged corruption in Ducky Bhai case

Seven officers from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) have submitted their resignations following allegations of bribery and corruption related to the high-profile arrest of YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, also known as Ducky Bhai. The officers, once part of the investigation team, are expected to be dismissed after approval from the Ministry of Interior.

The resignation letters have been forwarded to the Ministry by the newly appointed Director General of NCCIA, Khurram Ali. Approval for their dismissal is expected later this week.

Sources reveal that investigations by the FIA and intelligence agencies uncovered connections between senior NCCIA officers and Ducky Bhai. After his arrest, several officers allegedly accepted a large bribe, with one officer transferring over $300,000 from Ducky Bhai’s account into his own. The funds were then shared among the officers.

The scandal intensified when several officers linked to the case disappeared, including Assistant Director Chaudhry Sarfraz Ahmed, Director of Operations Muhammad Usman, and others. A case was filed by Ducky Bhai’s wife, Aroob Jatoi, leading to the arrest of nine officers. Investigations are ongoing.

Recently, six NCCIA officials were arrested and presented in court, where they were granted physical remand. According to the FIA’s report, approximately Rs 42.5 million was recovered from the accused officers.
