Local holiday declared on 17th November

The Deputy Commissioner of Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, has announced a local holiday for November 17, 2025, to observe the 754th annual Urs of Syed Asghar Ali Shah, also known as Sakhi Jam Datar.

In an official notification, the district administration confirmed that all government offices, educational institutions, and public departments within the district will remain closed on that day.

The three-day Urs celebrations will take place in Jam Sahib town from November 17 to November 19, drawing devotees and visitors from across Sindh and beyond.

The Urs of Sakhi Jam Datar is one of the region’s most significant spiritual events, featuring religious ceremonies, Sufi music, and community meals. Local authorities have made all necessary security and administrative arrangements to ensure the event proceeds smoothly.
