- DC Hameedullah Khan leads restoration drive on priority, Rs600,000 released for renovation and refurbishment
PESHAWAR: After eight long years, the Government Girls High School Dallo Khel in Lakki Marwat has reopened, rekindling the hope of education for 281 girls who had been deprived of learning opportunities due to a prolonged local dispute.
The long-awaited restoration came through the direct intervention of Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah and Commissioner Bannu Division Khalid Mehmood, whose coordinated efforts brought an amicable resolution to the issue that had kept the school shuttered for nearly a decade.
Deputy Commissioner Hameedullah Khan, known for his effective administrative record, personally supervised the reopening process, while District Police Officer Nazir Khan, PSP, ensured complete security and public cooperation during rehabilitation work.
A special fund of Rs600,000 was immediately released for renovation and refurbishment. Within just one week, the classrooms were repaired and repainted, furniture restored, and the compound cleaned and secured—transforming the once-abandoned premises into a fully functional learning space.
The reopening is being hailed as a landmark step for girls’ education in Lakki Marwat, a district where access to quality educational facilities has long remained limited. For many local families, it marks not only the revival of an institution but also the renewal of their daughters’ aspirations.
Residents expressed gratitude to the provincial administration, calling the reopening “a revival of our daughters’ dreams.” Officials, meanwhile, described it as part of the government’s broader commitment to empowering girls through education and ensuring that no child in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is denied the right to learn.
The reopening of the Dallo Khel school, they added, stands as a testament to what timely coordination, administrative will, and community cooperation can achieve for the cause of education.
