Canadian police are investigating a shooting outside the residence of Punjabi singer Chani Nattan after the Lawrence Bishnoi gang allegedly claimed responsibility for the attack.
Authorities said a social media post from an account named Goldy Dhillon — believed to be a close aide of Bishnoi — took credit for the incident. The post claimed Nattan was targeted because of his growing association with fellow singer Sardar Khehra.
The alleged message warned that any artist collaborating with or maintaining ties to Sardar Khehra would face consequences, adding, “We have no personal enmity with Chani Nattan.”
Police are currently verifying the authenticity of the post. A 15-second video circulating on social media shows multiple gunshots fired at a house during the night. Officers confirmed that shots were fired at Nattan’s residence, though it remains unclear if anyone was present at the time.
Born in Surrey, Canada, Chani Nattan is known for his powerful lyrics and collaborations blending traditional Punjabi melodies with modern beats. Over the years, he has built a strong following across the Punjabi diaspora, working with artists and producers from both Punjab and Canada.
