A woman accused in the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FEHA) fraud case managed to escape from an FIA court in Islamabad on Tuesday after her bail plea was rejected.
The case was heard by Judge Humayun Dilawar of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Central Court, who dismissed the bail petitions of both accused, Uzma Batool and Zakir Hussain.
Zakir Hussain, a former patwari with the FEHA, and his co-accused were charged with misusing their official powers to illegally allocate plots to individuals who were not entitled to them. According to the FIA, the accused caused a significant financial loss and infringed upon the rights of legitimate property owners.
However, shortly after the judge’s decision, Uzma Batool quietly left the courtroom and managed to flee before authorities could take action.
