ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has officially launched its E-Office system, marking a significant step in the country’s judicial digitalization. This launch comes alongside the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan (LJCP) and the National Information Technology Board (NITB), aiming to improve transparency and accountability within the judiciary.
The MoU outlines the creation of an Analytical Dashboard for the Judiciary, which will consolidate data from various justice sector institutions. This platform will provide real-time insights into case disposal, backlog management, and institutional performance, strengthening evidence-based reforms. It will also include monitoring parameters from the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee (NJPMC).
Following the signing, the E-Office system was officially launched, introducing a paperless workflow for file movement and internal office operations within the Supreme Court. A case management system tailored for the judges is also under development, further aligning Pakistan’s judiciary with global best practices in digital governance.
The ceremony was attended by several key figures, including Chief Justice of Pakistan, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Yahya Afridi, Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and other prominent judicial figures. The E-Office system is expected to revolutionize the judicial process, bringing greater efficiency and transparency.
