13 ‘India-sponsored’ terrorists killed, 4 disguised as women arrested in Balochistan IBOs: ISPR

  • Military’s media wing says separate IBOs conducted in Quetta, Khuzdar and Kech districts on Tuesday and Wednesday

RAWALPINDI: Thirteen terrorists belonging to Indian proxies, “Fitna al-Khwarij and Fitna al-Hindustan,” were killed, and four terrorists were apprehended trying to flee cowardly by disguising themselves in women’s attire in three separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in different areas of Balochistan, according to the military’s media wing on Wednesday.

In a statement the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the IBOs were carried out on 30 September and 01 October 2025 in the Quetta, Kech, and Khuzdar districts.

The ISPR said, “An intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted in the outskirts of Quetta on the reported presence of Khwarij of Fitna al Khwarij. During the conduct of the operation, our own troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location, and after an intense fire exchange, 10 Indian-sponsored Khwarij were sent to hell.”

“In another intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in Kech District, a terrorist hideout was busted, and three Indian-sponsored terrorists, Fitna al-Hindustan, were successfully neutralized. A large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered. The slain militants were actively involved in a number of terrorist activities,” the ISPR added.

“On 01 October 2025, security forces conducted yet another intelligence-based operation in Khuzdar District of Balochistan on the reported presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy, Fitna al-Hindustan.”

“During the conduct of operation, own forces apprehended four terrorists trying to flee cowardly by disguising themselves in women’s attire. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area,” the military’s media wing said.

The ISPR said that the sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area.

“Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country and reaffirm the nation’s unwavering resolve to bring the perpetrators of terrorism and their facilitators to justice,” the statement reaffirmed.

Suicide blast near FC Headquarters in Quetta

Earlier on Tuesday, at least 11 people, including two paramilitary FC soldiers, were martyred when a suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (SVBIED) ripped through the Pishin Stop area near the Frontier Corps (FC) headquarters in Quetta, triggering a gunbattle in which security forces killed six terrorists, officials said.

Security officials said the terrorists tried to storm the FC headquarters in Balochistan’s capital and one of them detonated himself near a checkpoint. In the exchange of fire, security forces killed six terrorists and recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition.

“The suicide bomber, riding a Suzuki van, detonated the device, while at least five of his accomplices tried to enter the compound afterwards,” a senior local government official told AFP. “In the exchange of fire, all attackers were killed,” the official said.

“Timely response by the security forces averted a larger tragedy,” said another official. “Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists,” he added. Officials revealed that the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) confirmed that 30 to 40 kilogramms of explosives were used in the blast.

CCTV images, shared with media, showed an loader van turning into the entrance of the FC headquarters before the explosion. Eyewitnesses described the blast as “so intense” that it was heard across the city, causing panic among residents as fire and smoke billowed from the site.

Rescue officials said a local passenger bus was among the targets, hit by the suicide bombing, leaving commuters and nearby pedestrians seriously wounded. Besides the 11 fatalities, nearly three dozen others sustained injuries, according to Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar.

Many of the injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta, where several remain in critical condition, according to medics. Kakar said that an emergency had been declared in all hospitals across the city to ensure immediate medical aid to the injured.

The explosion caused significant damage to nearby buildings, shattering windows and doors. Security forces cordoned off the area soon after the incident and launched a thorough investigation.

Terror groups, including the banned so-called Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), have increasingly shifted tactics to inflict heavier casualties, targeting both civilian and security installations. Authorities believe that many of these groups operate with external support, aiming to destabilize the province and derail Pakistan’s broader counter-terrorism gains.

Security forces and the CTD have stepped up intelligence-based operations across Balochistan to pre-empt further attacks. Officials reiterated their resolve that such militant elements “will be hunted down with full force” to restore stability in the province.

The attack came against the backdrop of increased terrorist attacks in the country with terror incidents surging by 74% in August compared to July, as per a report by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS). The Islamabad-based think tank recorded 194 fatalities from militant attacks during the month.
