Holiday declared for Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Fareed

Rahim Yar Khan's Deputy Commissioner Khurram Pervaiz has announced a local holiday for Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in observance of the Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Fareed (R.A.). The holiday will apply across the Rahim Yar Khan district, as stated in the official notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner's office.

The holiday will not impact scheduled exams at schools, universities, boards, or financial institutions, which will proceed as planned. The notification has been shared with relevant authorities, including the Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, Secretary (Home) Punjab, Commissioner of Bahawalpur Division, District and Session Judge Rahim Yar Khan, District Police Officer Rahim Yar Khan, and other concerned departments for necessary action.

The Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Fareed (R.A.), a revered Sufi poet and saint of the subcontinent, is an annual event marked by religious ceremonies, cultural activities, and tributes, drawing devotees from various regions.
