CJCSC, Malaysian Defence Forces Chief vow to strengthening military-to-military ties

RAWALPINDI: General Tan Sri Hj Mohd Nizam bin Hj Jaffar, Chief of Defence Forces Malaysia, while on an official visit to Pakistan, called on General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), at Joint Staff Headquarters, Rawalpindi, the military’s media wing reported on Wednesday. A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, “Both sides held comprehensive discussions on the evolving global and regional security environment and underscored the importance of exploring new avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation in defence and security domains.” Both military leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the military-to-military relationship in the light of evolving regional security dynamics, the ISPR said. The visiting dignitary remained appreciative of the professional standards of the Pakistan Armed Forces, their achievements and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and continued efforts towards regional peace and stability. Earlier, upon arrival at Joint Staff Headquarters, a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent presented a Guard of Honour to the visiting dignitary. Inauguration ceremony of KHINAMS Earlier, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), attended as chief guest, the inauguration ceremony of His Majesty King Hamad Institute of Nursing and Associated Medical Sciences (KHINAMS) in Islamabad, the military’s media wing reported in a statement. According to the ISPR, the ceremony was also attended by H.R.H. General Shaikh Mohammed Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander Bahrain National Guard as Guest of Honour and other senior civil-military officers. CJCSC, while thanking His Majesty and His Royal Highness, underscored the strong bilateral relation between Pakistan and Bahrain. He further said that the inauguration of KHINAMS marked an important milestone in advancing medical education, expressing confidence that the institute would produce competent healthcare professionals and set new benchmarks in nursing and associated medical sciences in Pakistan, the ISPR said.
