- Party’s spokesperson says terrorism clauses added to FIR overnight in ‘abuse of law’
- Dubs Punjab Police ‘printing press for fake FIRs,’ vowing to stand by Aleema Khan for her courage and loyalty
- Condemns in ‘most unequivocal terms’ Israel’s airstrikes targeting leadership of Hamas in Qatar
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has strongly condemned the registration of what it called yet another “fabricated and bogus FIR” against Aleema Khan, sister of unlawfully incarcerated PTI Patron-in-Chief Imran Khan, which also names senior PTI lawyer Naeem Haider Panjutha and several others. The party described the move as a “blatant act of political victimization.”
In a statement issued by PTI’s Central Media Department on Wednesday, the spokesperson accused the government of unleashing a ruthless wave of fake FIRs to target innocent citizens.
The statement said the FIR, originally registered on September 8 under PPC sections 506, 147, 149, 382, and 427, was later manipulated with the overnight addition of terrorism clauses, despite no such provisions being included initially. “When our people appeared before ordinary courts in the morning, they were forcibly dragged to an Anti-Terrorism Court — a glaring testament to political victimisation and abuse of the justice system,” the spokesperson said.
PTI stressed that the case was entirely false and politically motivated, accusing Punjab Police and the provincial government of operating like a “printing press for fake ”FIRs”—repeatedly targeting members of Imran Khan’s family.
The statement said Aleema Khan was being singled out only because she had stood firmly beside her brother and conveyed his message to the people of Pakistan. It described her as a “dignified and courageous woman” and vowed that PTI stood firmly with her.
PTI Condemns Israeli Strike in Qatar
Separately, PTI condemned in the “strongest and most unequivocal terms” Israel’s deadly strike targeting the leadership of Hamas in Qatar.
The party called the attack a “cowardly assault on Palestinian leadership, a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, and a gross breach of international law and the UN Charter.”
The statement said Israel had a long track record of committing atrocities and genocide against Palestinians, acting as a “rogue element spreading terror in the region, behaving like a gangster network and terrorist syndicate.” Such conduct, it warned, threatens not only Palestine but also wider regional stability and global peace.
PTI urged Muslim nations to stand united, lodge their strongest condemnation, and formulate a collective strategy to deter Israel from further aggression in Palestine or elsewhere.
