Pakistan and India captains say no let-up in aggression during Asia Cup encounter

Ahead of the high-stakes clash between Pakistan and India in the Men's T20 Asia Cup 2025, Pakistan's captain Salman Ali Agha emphasized that his team is fully prepared to face any level of intensity or aggression on the field. This will be the first match between the two cricketing giants since their military conflict in May this year.

When asked about the potential for aggression in light of the tense geopolitical situation, Agha made it clear that no special instructions had been issued for the India-Pakistan encounter. He stressed that players should express their natural aggression, as long as it remains within the bounds of the game.

"You don't need to say anything to any player because every individual is different," Agha said. "Our focus is on our game and performance. If any team or player shows aggression, we are ready. Fast bowlers are expected to channel intensity, which is part of the match."

He also noted that the team's aim is to give 100% in every game. Pakistan's recent tri-series victory has given them a boost, and the squad is eager to take on India in the Asia Cup.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav echoed similar sentiments, affirming that aggression is an inherent part of cricket. "Aggression is always there when we take the field," a relaxed Yadav said during the press conference. "Without aggression, I don't think you can play the sport. I'm really excited to take the field."

Although India has not played T20 Internationals since their home series against England in February, Yadav did not consider his team to be under-prepared. "If your preparations are great, then you are certainly confident when you take the field," he said. "We came here a few days ago and had a good time as a team. We are really looking forward to this tournament."

With the stage set, the Asia Cup promises a thrilling contest between Pakistan, India, and other top Asian teams vying for regional supremacy.
