Sardar Yousaf assures compensation, rehabilitation for Mansehra flood victims

MANSEHRA: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has said that while human life lost in natural calamities can never be replaced, financial losses can be compensated and rehabilitation efforts are underway to support the affected population.

Addressing flood victims and local elders in the remote mountainous region of Sam Malkan, Mansehra, the minister said the federal government stands firmly with the disaster-hit communities and is employing all available resources to ensure their complete rehabilitation.

He noted that Pakistan was experiencing the effects of climate change and urged citizens to take precautionary measures during the ongoing monsoon season, particularly avoiding seasonal streams and nullahs that posed serious risks.

Underscoring the importance of forests, Sardar Yousaf termed them a vital national asset and called for an end to illegal deforestation. He appealed to local communities to actively contribute to the protection and preservation of forest resources.

The minister also pressed the provincial government to release funds on an urgent basis for the restoration of link roads, schools, and drinking water schemes damaged by the recent floods and rains in Mansehra district.
