Wait for wonderful, comfortable journey on eco-friendly buses about to end: CM

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday said that the long-wait for a wonderful and comfortable journey on electric buses is about to end as a fleet of 100 modern buses will arrive soon to hit roads in Punjab.

In a joyful message to the people of Punjab on the social networking website ‘X’, the Punjab CM said that there will be a wonderful and comfortable journey on the electric buses at only Rs20 in the districts of Punjab. “The buses equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi and other facilities have been prepared,” she added.

The chief minister apprised that a fleet of 100 electric buses is being loaded on a ship at the port of Yantai, China and will depart for Pakistan tonight. She highlighted, “Buses are being run on a priority basis in districts of Punjab being deprived of public transport facility for quite a long time. E-buses are being run in Mianwali, Okara, Nankana Sahib, Muzaffargarh, Vehari, Pakpattan and Dera Ghazi Khan. Fare of the electric bus will be only Rs20,” the Punjab CM said.

“The eco-friendly electric buses for the districts will also have air conditioning, Wi-Fi, other facilities and will have a fully automated ticketing system.” She outlined. “Special persons will also be able to travel easily on the electric buses being operated in the districts. The Punjab government will provide safe, comfortable, and peaceful travel facilities to the citizens of Punjab,” CM Maryam declared.

CM’s Message on International Youth Day

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that all possible resources will be utilized to fulfill the dreams of the youth. The youth of Punjab are the bright future and a valuable asset to Pakistan.

CM Maryam Nawaz in her message on International Youth Day said, “Every youth is the bright star of the nation’s destiny; we are proud of them. Punjab’s unique Honhaar scholarship program is materializing the dreams of talented students.”

She highlighted, “Thousands of youth are benefiting from modern knowledge and technology through the ‘CM Punjab Laptop Scheme.’ Through the ‘Khelta’ Punjab program, the Punjab government is providing the youth of every division a platform to prosper in the fields of sports and positive activities, along with maintaining their health. The e-bike scheme is providing a dignified transportation facility and independence to thousands of students of Punjab.”

She outlined, “Advanced market-based IT training are preparing the youth not merely for acquiring jobs but to create jobs as well. Young medical graduates in Maryam Nawaz clinics are portraying a practical example of providing excellent medical service to the patients.”

She noted, “Assan Karobar Card and ‘Assan Karobar’ Finance Scheme are providing the youth financial independence and strength.

Meanwhile, Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz expressed deep grief over the death of the father of renowned singer Atif Aslam. She expressed her heartfelt sympathies and condolences to Atif Aslam and the bereaved family.
