Terrorists abduct, kill five in tribal districts

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Five bodies, including that of a 13-year-old boy, were found in Lakki Marwat, Tank, and South Waziristan districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday. All victims are believed to have been abducted and killed by terrorists.

The first incident occurred in the Pezu area of Lakki Marwat, where terrorists linked to the Shahzaib Bhittani group of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) reportedly intercepted a passenger vehicle and kidnapped three security personnel. The soldiers, identified as Naseem and Muhammad Rashid from Kohat, and Muhammad Sher from Upper Kurram, were held for two days in the Beana hills before being executed.

In the second incident, the beheaded body of a young man, Iftikhar, was found near Wanda Jogi on Pezu-Tank Road in Tank district. Iftikhar, son of Ijaz Ahmed from Ama Khel, had been abducted a day earlier. Sources suggest he may have been killed under charges of espionage.

The third incident took place in Shin Warsak, Lower South Waziristan, where 22-year-old Haq Nawaz was abducted from Deekana Stop. His body was later recovered from the remote Algad area. Haq Nawaz had been working at a local shop when he was taken.

Additionally, three trailers and seven drivers from an oil and gas company were abducted by unknown armed men near Mandi Bakakhel in Bannu. This marks the second such incident involving vehicles supplying goods to the same company. Police have launched an investigation into the abduction.

In response, security forces launched an operation in the Umar Khel area of Tank District targeting the terrorists responsible for the killings of three security personnel. During the operation, two terrorists were killed.
