KASUR: Deputy Commissioner Imran Ali chaired a meeting of the District Peace Committee (DPC) on Monday to discuss security arrangements for the holy month of Muharram. The meeting, attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Salmun Ayub and other relevant officials, focused on ensuring law and order during this period.
The deputy commissioner emphasized the importance of foolproof security measures, stating that maintaining peace during Muharram is a priority for the district administration. He called on people from all schools of thought to cooperate with the administration for a peaceful Ashura.
Security will be intensified for public gatherings (Majalis) and mourning procession routes. The DC also highlighted the establishment of a control room at the tehsil level and the use of CCTV cameras to monitor Majalis and procession routes. He assured that the suggestions of religious scholars would be prioritized to ensure peace.
