PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has called for an armed public march towards Islamabad to demand the release of PTI leader Imran Khan, warning of retaliation “with full force” if his supporters are attacked.
Speaking at a rally in Mathra, near Peshawar, Gandapur said, “If bullets are fired, we won’t just respond — we’ll hit back hard.” The rally, organized by local PTI leaders to call for the release of the party’s top leadership, included former MNA Sajid Nawaz, former deputy speaker Mehmood Jan, and MNA Sher Ali Arbab.
During his speech, Gandapur focused solely on the release of Imran Khan and announced that protests would be held province-wide on June 22. He urged the participants to be ready for mass resistance, stating, “We will go with weapons, take bullets to our chests if necessary, but we will strike back.”
The rally participants vowed to follow Imran Khan’s call and support any such movement for his release, highlighting the escalating tension within the PTI over the incarceration of its leader.
