SEPA issues notices to factories, hospitals for violating environmental laws

KARACHI: The Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) has issued notices to multiple factories and health facilities across the province for violating environmental regulations. The action follows intensified enforcement efforts under the direction of Secretary Environment, Climate Change and Coastal Development, Agha Shahnawaz Khan.

SEPA teams conducted inspections of factories, hospitals, warehouses, energy plants, and stone crushing units in various districts. The agency confirmed that several institutions were found non-compliant with the Sindh Environmental Protection Act.

In Khipro, the regional SEPA office in Shaheed Benazirabad and the district office in Sanghar served notices to cotton factories, poultry sheds, and fertiliser warehouses. Officials stated that monitoring and enforcement would continue to ensure environmental standards are upheld across all sectors.
