KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Tuesday granted bail to Bilal, an accused in a case related to funding and facilitating terrorists involved in an airport suicide bombing.
Bilal, a private bank employee, was ordered to submit a surety bond of Rs0.2 million. According to the Counter-Terrorism Department, he allegedly financed the purchase of a vehicle used in the attack.
Two key suspects, Basheer Zaib and Rehman Gul, affiliated with a banned outfit, remain at large. The court issued a short verdict while approving the bail request.
Separately, the Sindh High Court heard a petition against road cutting by utility companies in Mehmoodabad. The petitioner’s lawyer argued that road cutting permits were issued without consulting the union council chairman, violating the Sindh Local Government Act.
