Leepa Valley cut off from Muzaffarabad as landslide closes Reshian-Leepa Road

MUZAFFARABAD: The only road linking Muzaffarabad to Leepa Valley, the Reshian-Leepa Road, has been blocked due to a heavy landslide, severing the vital connection between the two regions.

As a result, Leepa Valley has been completely cut off from Muzaffarabad, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded on both sides of the affected area. Long queues of vehicles have formed along the route, as people await the reopening of the road.

The landslide has caused a massive buildup of debris, making the road impassable. In response, a spokesperson from the Highways Division confirmed that machinery has already been dispatched to the site to clear the debris. A clearing operation is currently underway in an effort to restore the road and ensure that traffic can resume as soon as possible.

The local administration has assured residents that the restoration of the road is being prioritized, with efforts being made to clear the landslide and reopen the route at the earliest opportunity. The disruption has created significant inconvenience for those dependent on the road for transportation and travel.
