Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Announces Meeting Date for Shawwal Moon Sighting

The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, along with zonal committees, will gather on Sunday evening, March 30, to observe the Shawwal moon, signaling the potential end of Ramazan. This meeting will take place at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, where religious scholars, meteorological experts, and other officials will review moon sighting reports from across Pakistan.

The moon sighting announcement will determine the date for Eidul Fitr celebrations nationwide. Ramazan began in Pakistan on March 2 after the Ruet-i-Hilal Committee confirmed on February 28 that the Ramazan moon was not sighted, and the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) had predicted that Eidul Fitr would be on March 31.
