Temperature to soar in coming days as westerly wave enters country

The Met Office reported that temperatures during the day are expected to rise across many areas, especially in the southern regions of the country due to high atmospheric pressure.

A westerly wave is set to enter the western parts of the country on May 10th and is expected to progress to the northern regions by May 11th.

This weather system is predicted to cause temperatures to be 03-05°C above normal in Balochistan from May 8th to May 10th.

Expectations for rain-duststorms or thunderstorms are set for Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Barkhan, Kalat, Khuzdar, Qilla Saifullah, Kohlu, and Mastung on May 10th and 11th. Additionally, dust or thunderstorms are forecasted in Kharan, Chagai, and Panjgur districts during this period.

In Sindh, day temperatures are also likely to be 03-05°C above the norm from May 8th to May 10th. Dust-thunderstorms or rain is predicted in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Qambar-Shahdad Kot, Jamshoro, and Sanghar districts on the night of May 10th and May 11th.

In Punjab and Islamabad, day temperatures are expected to remain 03-05°C above normal from May 8th to May 10th. Rain accompanied by dust or thunderstorms is anticipated in Lahore and other northern Punjab districts from May 10th to May 12th.

In southern Punjab, including Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, and Bahawalnagar districts, similar conditions are expected on May 10th and 11th. Isolated hailstorms are also forecasted during this time.

Day temperatures are expected to be 02-03°C above normal from May 8th to May 10th in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Most districts, including Peshawar, are likely to experience rain with duststorms or thunderstorms from May 10th to May 12th, with isolated hailstorms also possible.

In Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, day temperatures will likely be 03-05°C above normal from May 8th to May 10th. Rain accompanied by wind or thunderstorms is expected in the region on May 11th and 12th.
