The awkward step taken by the governments in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provinces to bring down the prices of roti from Rs20 to Rs16 could not be successful. It never had a chance. Instead of taking unrealistic decisions, the governments should adopt austerity measures and provide relief to the people.
