There are piles of dirt and dumps of garbage across Turbat city in the province of Balochistan. Recently, I went to the vegetable market, or sabzi mandi, and was shocked to see the lack of cleanliness in the entire area. A stench from the piles of waste made the experience rather horrible. The unhygienic environment can cause serious ailments among the residents. The public as well as the authorities are equally guilty as the people throw garbage on the streets, and there is no proper cleaning arrangement put in place by the local administration. The people should behave like civilised citizens, and the authorities should improve the area’s sanitation system.
