LBA holds protest against witchhunt of lawyers

LAHORE: The Lahore Bar Association (LBA) on Saturday locked the main doors of the session court and blocked the entry of police, anti-corruption, and security forces on Friday to protest the filing of anti-corruption cases against lawyers.

The move caused a rush of people outside the court doors, with many complaining that they had come from distant areas to appear in their cases.

The Lahore Bar issued a statement saying that the ban on the entry of anti-corruption officials into the covered courts would remain in effect from September 25.

The statement also said that the bar association would continue its protest until the anti-corruption cases against lawyers were withdrawn.

The bar association’s move has been met with mixed reactions from the public. Some people have supported the lawyers’ right to protest, while others have criticized the move for disrupting the court process.
