Rashid refuses to appear before NAB team in Al-Qadir Trust case

RAWALPINDI: Former federal interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Tuesday refused to appear before the NAB (National Accountability Bureau) investigation team in the £190 million scandal.

Rashid sent a letter to the NAB investigation team showing his inability to oblige it. The former federal minister wrote in his letter that he had no knowledge or any information about the Al-Qadir Trust and the £190 million case. Moreover, he was not a witness in the Al-Qadir Trust case.

He wrote that the “NAB summons asking him to appear before the investigation team is illegal and should be withdrawn.” It may be noted that the Rawalpindi NAB had directed Rashid to appear before the investigation team today (on Tuesday) along with documents related to the case.
