Eight women injured in Lahore Metro bus accident

LAHORE: As many as eight women were injured when Metro bus met with accident near Janazgah station on Saturday.

According to details, the Metro bus running between Gajumata and Shahdara, collided with the detached iron rod of the paling hanging over the track, got out of control and rammed into the paling.

Eight women were injured in the accident who were shifted to Mayo Hospital for treatment.

The mega transport project of Lahore has been in the grip of various technical faults as engine of various buses either went out of order or facing technical complexities.

Out of total 64 buses of Gajumata-Shahdara route, 23 were out of order due to technical faults and during last one year, 28 incidents of technical faults in buses of the said route came to light.
