VC AIOU represents Pakistan at high-level conference in Malaysia

Vice Chancellor, Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Prof. Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum represented Pakistan in the high-level round table conference of Vice Chancellors and Senior officials of Open Distance Learning (ODL) institutions of South Asia held in Penang, Malaysia.

This was organized by Asia e University and Commonwealth of Learning (COL). The President/CEO of Commonwealth of Learning, Prof. Dr. Asha Kanwar presided over the conference, while the President/Founder of Asia e University, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ansari conducted the conference, said a news release issued here.

VC, AIOU, Prof. Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum, while talking about digitization of the university, e-Assessment and Quality Assurance, said that Allama Iqbal Open University has digitized the educational system, due to which educational activities continued even in Covid-19.
He said that with digitalization we have now expanded our educational services to the entire world and Pakistani and international students residing in any country around the world can easily take admission in AIOU.

He added that in the last semester, students from many countries including America, Canada, Japan, Germany, France, China, Turkey, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman got admissions in various programs of AIOU.

Dr. Zia said that we are paying special attention to e-Assessment for quality assurance on all levels even as we have given special attention to quality learning in educational activities during Covid-19.

Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Zia Ul Qayyum expressed his desire for educational collaboration in meetings with the Vice Chancellors of other open universities in the region.
