Sharif pays tribute to Fatima on death anniversary

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Saturday said the entire nation pays tribute to the contributions rendered by Mader-i-Millat (mother of the nation) Fatima Jinnah who waged the struggle for the creation and construction of Pakistan and always stood by the side of founding father and her brother Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The 55th death anniversary of Jinnah was observed on Saturday with solemnity. She passed away on July 9, 1967.

Jinnah was also a guardian of her brother’s political heritage, said Sharif.

He said Jinnah not only took an equal part in the struggle for independence but also took care of his brother when he was critically ill.

Sharif said Jinnah fought hardships and strived for the vision of his late brother against all odds. The nation will never forget her services to the country, he added.

He recalled Jinnah’s contribution towards women’s re-organisation, adding she had motivated women to seek education and skills.

May Almighty grant her the highest rank in Jinnah, the PM said.
