Promising Hussnain selected for Grand Slam Player Development Programme

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s promising 14 & under tennis player, Muhammad Hussnain Ali Rizwan has been selected for the Grand Slam Player Development Programme -GSPDP /ITF/ATF 14&U Team to Europe 2022.

This is the first time in the history of Pakistan tennis that a 14 & under player has been selected by the ITF/ATF for a team travelling to Europe, said a press release.

Hussnain is currently ranked No.2 in Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) 14 & under category.

The player has proceeded to Paris on Saturday to attend a two-day training session before participating in Open Stade Francais, Coquette, France from July 4 to 10.

Then he will take part in La Balle Mimosa Loire-Atlantique La Baule- Escoublac, France from July 11 to 17. Following that he will partake in Tournoi Loire Vallee, France from July 18 to 24.

He is scheduled to chip in Internationale Deutsche Tennis meisterschaften U14 Duren, Germany from July 25 to 30. Finally, he will move to Belgium to participate in Young Champions Cup, Hasselt from August 1 to 7.

President of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Salim Saifullah Khan, in a statement, said that the selection of Hussnain was a huge honour for the country and a matter of great pride for the PTF. He said that the selection of the budding player would prove to be a source of great inspiration for the other young players. He said through hard work, dedication and passion for tennis, such targets could also be achieved by them. He also thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for facilitating the player and ensuring the endorsement of a visa in a very short time.
