Water pollution is one of the major threats to public health in Pakistan. Drinking water quality is poorly managed and monitored. Pakistan ranks at number 80 amongst 122 countries concerning consuming water pleasant. Drinking water sources, both surface and groundwater are infected with coliforms, toxic metals and insecticides for the duration of the country. Various ingesting water quality parameters set through WHO are regularly violated.

Human activities like improper disposal of municipal and industrial effluents and indiscriminate packages of agrochemicals in agriculture are the primary elements contributing to the deterioration of water fines. Microbial and chemical pollutants are the primary elements accountable solely or in combination for various public health problems.
