FIA warns action against 'doctored' obscene videos' makers, circulators

ISLAMABAD: Taking notice of "doctored" obscene pictures and videos of women being shared on social media platforms, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) announced it has launched an inquiry into the matter.

The agency warned it would take stern action against those involved in making and circulation of such content and asked internet users to refrain from becoming part of such malicious campaigns.

It is pertinent to mention here that former minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) senior vice president Fawad Chaudhry said on Monday that a character assassination campaign to tarnish the image of former prime minister Imran Khan through photoshopped content has been launched.

In a video statement on Twitter, Chaudhry said the "imported government" of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) parties tried to use blasphemy cases against its political opponents.

He said the government will also start a major character assassination campaign to target Khan, adding that these are the last weeks of the "dummy" government and the freedom movement is not going to stop.
