10 terrorists killed in South Waziristan IBO: ISPR

Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in South Waziristan District on a reported of presence of terrorists in a hideout, which resulted in the death of 10 terrorists, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.

According to ISPR, security forces cordoned the hideout and during intense exchange of fire, 10 terrorists, including four commanders, were killed. Weapons and a large quantity of ammunition was also recovered from the hideout.

“All the killed terrorists remained actively involved in planting IEDs, conducting fire raids and target killing of innocent civilians,” the statement read.

“These terrorists were planning to conduct more acts of terrorism inside the South Waziristan district. Pakistan Army is determined to root out the menace of terrorism from the country at all costs,” it added.

Earlier in the day, President Dr Arif Alvi telephonically contacted the families of soldiers martyred in the terrorist attack in South Waziristan on the 15th of this month.

He telephoned the families of security personnel Muhammad Intezar, Salman, Sajid Hussain, Muhammad Sheraz, Isthiaq Hussain, Amir Shakil and Khurram Shahzad.

The president paid tribute to the martyrs for their services and bravery. He prayed for the highest ranks in Jannah for the martyrs and patience for the bereaved families.
