ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Industry and Production Hammad Azhar said the government had presented a balance budget during difficult situation of coronavirus, vowing that the much discussed 11.8 percent increase in allocation would result in ‘at least one new jihadist outfit’.
Talking to The Dependent, Azhar said there was no other option for the government except to run the wheel of armed jihad, and if the allocation hadn’t been made there would be no government to run anything.
The minister said the government has had to deal with fragile egos, which had been severely impacted by the lack of jihadist activity in the region.
“Before smart lockdowns for coronavirus, we had to impose smart lockdowns on jihadist groups. Like coronavirus, jihadist groups could not be completely eliminated by lockdowns, but it was only way to slow down its spreading to other areas – which we had been told to do internationally,” Azhar said.
“Jihadist groups became a global challenge and they hampered economies of the world. Pakistan was already facing difficulties regarding economy, and our wheel of jihad was temporarily halted. But now we shall bounce back,” he vowed.
Azhar said that soon the nation will hear good news, and names will be announced in the coming weeks.
