The director general of the police in occupied Kashmir, Dilbag Singh, has claimed that “Pakistan is trying to push people infected with Covid-19” into the valley to spread the virus among its residents, Scroll.in reported quoting NDTV.
“Certain things have come to the fore,” the police chief said after visiting a quarantine facility in Ganderbal district.
The held territory has reported some 407 coronavirus cases with four deaths as of Thursday.
“So far, Pakistan has been sending terrorists to Kashmir, but it is now exporting coronavirus patients to spread the virus among people of Kashmir. It’s an issue we have to be cautious about and it’s very disturbing,” Singh alleged.
Earlier, the Indian Army Chief Gen Manoj Naravane had accused Pakistan of “exporting terror”; the statement was strongly rejected by Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui as “irresponsible, spurious and totally false allegations”.
