In an explosive set of documents made available to The Dependent, it has been revealed that the successful JUI-F dharna of 2019 yielded the recent resignation of Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad.
“This man clearly won’t end the dharna without a resignation,” Mahathir is reported to have written to Prime Minister Imran Khan. “And since you are the best thing to happen to the Muslim world since Sultan Golden, I think the decent thing for me to do, for the sake of the Muslims, is to tender my resignation.”
“We got it, we got it,” exclaimed the JUI-F leader as soon as he got news of this development.
“This is what we were hoping for, my brothers. Now, we can go home,” he said to his non-plussed Central Working Committee. “We have gotten what we came here for; we can leave with our heads held high.”
“Come on, let’s go,” he said to protesting committee members. “We will discuss when we reach Bannu; come on, let’s go.”
