Govt will fulfill promises with allies, says Sarwar

LAHORE: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar on Friday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) government will fulfill the promises it made with its coalition partners.

In a media talk following a meeting with PTI’s coalition parties, Sarwar asserted the talks were meaningful. “The government will fulfill all its promises,” he added.

In response to a question, he said the opposition is unaware of ground realities; there is nothing to worry as PTI is in contact with its coalition partners.

When asked, Sarwar denied that Speaker Punjab Assembly Pervaiz Ellahi has demanded CM Punjab slot.

Sarwar declared that the public is not concerned about the differences among the coalition partners, rather worried over increasing inflation in the country.

To another query, the governor responded that Jahangir Tareen is “part of PTI” adding that the party is united under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

On Kashmir issue, he recalled the matters of Kashmir lockdown and controversial Citizenship Act are on the agenda of the European parliament.

Representatives from Britain’s International Trade Committee and its parliament are in contact with the Pakistan government, he added.
