Afghan NDS releases abducted Pakistani citizen

ISLAMABAD: Afghanistan’s premier intelligence agency, the National Directorate of Security (NDS), has freed a detained Pakistani who was taken into custody in Kabul as part of an orchestrated campaign against Pakistani professionals working in the country.

Pakistani embassy officials in the Afghan capital said that Saeedullah was arrested by the NDS at a checkpoint in Kabul. The Pakistani national has been working for an Afghan consultancy firm for the last 10 years.

The embassy had taken up Saeedullah’s case with the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This is third case of arrest of Pakistani professionals in Afghanistan during the last couple of months.
