DUBAI: A delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) which included Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar and former parliamentarian Haider Abbas Rizvi met former president Pervez Musharraf and inquired about his health at a private hospital in Dubai on Wednesday, party leader Faisal Sabzwari confirmed.
The former president was awarded death sentence by a special court under Article 6 of the constitution in the high treason case against him.
In a statement, MQM-P termed the decision against Musharraf “regretful” and assured full support to the former army chief.
Musharraf thanked MQM-P for its support, according to the statement.
In a tweet, Sabzwari said MQM-P leaders inquired after Musharraf and appreciated his services for Karachi and Pakistan.
