A meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in Lahore reviewed in detail the law and order situation in the province.
The meeting agreed upon a comprehensive liaison between Punjab and federal governments for the betterment of peace in the province.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said every possible step would be taken to protect the life and property of citizens and to maintain peace.
He directed police to discharge their duties with honesty to cope with anti-social elements.
Besides senior provincial officials, Federal Interior Minister Ijaz Shah also attended the meeting.
