ECP bins MQM-P plea regarding estranged municipal representatives

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday dismissed the plea of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) filed against the municipal representatives who had parted ways with the Pakistan fraction of the party.

A three-member ECP bench, headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Mohammad Raza, heard the plea which was filed by Federal Minister Khalid Maqbool.

Lawyer Akbar Khan appeared before the court on behalf of the party and while Hafeezuddin represented the municipal representatives.

After hearing arguments of both parties, the ECP binned the petition.
