NEW YORK: Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Maleeha Lodhi has said that cultural activities help to highlight the positive image of any country.
Speaking after inaugurating the fourth edition of Lahore Literary Festival (LLF) New York, Maleeha Lodhi congratulated the organizers over successful organizations of LLF. During the international festival, topics of cultural and art activities were discussed.
She was of the views that the annual organization of the literary festival was proof of the cultural development in Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN said that the LLF New York highlighted creative experiences of the country across the world.
The Lahore Literary Festival (LLF), one of South Asia’s premier cultural events, returns to Asia Society New York for the fourth year. The “safe place for dangerous ideas” (The Guardian) hosts writers, artists, and commentators speaking on issues affecting Pakistan and the world.
The festival aims to present an American audience with a more nuanced view of Pakistan, with discussions on fiction and nonfiction writing, art, architecture, history and politics.
