Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Chairman Qibla Ayaz on Thursday declared that the National Accountability Bureau’s handcuffing of suspects was against Shariah and the law.
“Insulting a suspect in the media before conviction is against Islam and human dignity,” Ayaz added, according to a private TV channel’s report.
The CII chief said a committee to analyse the NAB ordinance has been formed under the supervision of Justice (r) Raza Khan. “The committee would review as to which NAB laws are in violation of the Islamic law,” Ayaz said.
Ayaz further said the CII has serious reservations over the recently held Aurat March in the country.
