PTI govt committed to depoliticising police department: Mazari

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari has said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Government is committed to a depoliticising police department by introducing a merit-based system.

Addressing a seminar titled “Police Reforms and Gender-Based Violence” in Islamabad on Tuesday, she said that only a professional police force can play a vital role in improving law and order situation in the country.

Highlighting the importance of police reforms, she said that it is on the top agenda items of the PTI led government.
