IGP approves new posting policy

LAHORE: Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Amjad Javed Saleemi on Wednesday approved a new policy regarding the posting period of newly promoted inspectors, reducing the duration of two year’s posting in Punjab constabulary to one year.

“Sub-inspectors, who have already served in units of the constabulary, Special Branch, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and traffic police during the last three years may not be re-posted in Punjab constabulary/CTD on promotion as inspector,” reads the new policy.

They may be adjusted in regions/units, it adds.

However, the new policy further states, the sub-inspectors, who remained posted in these units more than three years ago, may be posted back on promotion as inspector.
