SHC issues contempt notices to CM, IGP

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday issued a contempt of court notice to the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Kaleem Imam and others in transfers and appointments case.

SHC heard the petition on transfers and appointments in the police department and issued contempt of court notices to CM and IGP and directed them to submit their replies by 7 November 2018.

Counsel Faisal Siddiqui said that the Sindh government was not interested in the legislation over transfers and appointments in the Sindh police. The petition seeks an inquiry against CM and IGP for violating the court order.
