KARACHI: The race to discover and celebrate the nation’s best female swimmers is on as the 26th Palmolive Sindh Women’s Swimming Championship is all set to begin on October 13.
Organised annually by the Karachi Women’s Swimming Association (KWSA), the competition garners attention on a national scale as an excellent platform to encourage new talent and applaud record-breaking performances.
As the principal sponsor, Palmolive takes great pride in playing an active and unwavering role in supporting this prestigious competition, year on year. The 26th Palmolive Sindh Women’s Swimming Championship will give Pakistan’s talented female swimmers a chance to display their talent, hone their skills and build their confidence in participating both at home and abroad.
Amongst many accolades, these competent sportswomen have won medals at the South Asian Games, South Asian Swimming Championships and the Islamic Women’s Games – taking every opportunity to raise the national flag high and make Pakistan proud.
Open to female participants across Sindh, the swimming championship will be held from October 13 to October 14 at the Karachi Club Annexe.
A record-breaking number of 300 plus participants are expected to compete from schools, clubs and as individuals; this includes Karachi Grammar School (KGS), Beacon House School System (BHSS), Karachi Club, Karachi Gymkhana, City School, Links, Bayview Academy and Haque Academy to name a few. The swimming events will include all FINA official swim strokes and events.
The opening ceremony will be held at 8.30 am on Saturday and will be witnessed by women only. The medal presentation ceremony will take place on Sunday, October 14 at 5.00 pm. The closing ceremony will be open to all.
