Pakistan likely to expel Bangladesh’s HC

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is considering expelling Bangladesh’s high commissioner (HC) following Dhaka’s refusal to accept Pakistan’s HC.

According to media reports, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had informed Prime Minister Imran Khan about the diplomatic row between the two countries and recommended the expulsion of Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Pakistan Tarik Ahsan.

Designated Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Dhaka Saqlain Syedah has been awaiting the agreement from Bangladesh’s foreign ministry since February but despite the passage of eight months, Dhaka has not approved the nomination of Pakistan’s HC.

Media reports further said that Bangladesh’s foreign ministry had not given any reason for not accepting Pakistan’s HC.
