80 per cent of funds gained from the 2017-18 trophy hunting programme were distributed among locals by the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) government, a local media outlet reported on Saturday.
Senior officials, including GB Chief Minister Hafeezur Rehman, were present at an an event organised over the matter.
Rehman vowed to take bold decisions to protect the region’s wildlife and the environment.
Speaking on the occasion, he also suggested for the formulation of a body of conservation communities to provide assistance to the government with regards to conservation policies.
